Nebraska Main Street and representatives from Verdigre discussed the potential for this property in the main downtown block. Although we were unable to go inside the building, we were able to talk to the property owner about the history and their vision for the building.
In the past, the main floor operated as a bar while the upper floor was used as living quarters for the owner. Before the apartment-style living, there were nine hotel rooms. The hotel was known as the "Hotel Queen" or "Queen Hotel" depending on whether you are driving from the North or South.
Future aspirations include the restoration of living quarters on the upper floor while the main floor operates as a multipurpose, community space. Results of the survey, as well as the resource packet, will be posted once finalized.
