Transformation Strategy Workshop and Accreditation Visits

Transformation Strategy Workshop and Accreditation Visits

As a part of the $20,000 Capacity Grant from Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Aly Ramage (NMS Director) and Kathy LaPlante (MSA Representative) hit the road for Accreditation visits for Fremont and Wayne, and to present the Transformation Strategy Workshop in Falls City.

Fremont, Nebraska

Our stop in Fremont gave us the chance to explore some standout local gems. We toured the Nebraska Quilt Company — the largest quilt shop in the state — and marveled at its impressive size and creative energy. We also visited Milady Coffeehouse, a beautifully restored building that perfectly blends history and hospitality.

While in town, we had the opportunity to sit down with Lainey’s board to talk through the accreditation process. The conversation was thoughtful, forward-looking, and full of potential — exactly the kind of dialogue that drives meaningful progress.

Wayne, Nebraska

Next up was Wayne, where we were treated to a guided city tour by Luke. He showed us the downtown district, Sanctuary- a beautifully restored church, and drove us around, showing us some local economic drivers and areas for new development.

Our lunch stop was Fiesta Brava, where Kathy had the tacos the best she’s ever had. Luke and his team went above and beyond, sending us off with thoughtful goodie bags packed with Wayne America and Chicken Show merch!

Falls City, Nebraska

We closed out the trip with our Transformation Strategy Workshop, where local directors from Nebraska and Kansas came together to learn how to build and implement successful transformation strategies. Kathy LaPlante's educational and energizing presentation sparked productive conversation between attendees.

Thank You!

A big thank you to everyone who hosted, shared, and inspired us along the way. These visits remind us why we do this work — and how bright the future is when we invest in people and places.
