HPEP Grant
Nebraska Main Street Network was recently awarded the Nebraska State Historical Society’s Historic Preservation Educational Programming - Statewide (HPEP) Grant. Nebraska Main Street Network (NMS) will be utilizing the funds to conduct a study of vacant spaces, focusing on second floors, to help Main Street communities understand how they can utilize those spaces.
Main Street communities can select two buildings to be reviewed for this project. Review includes an in-person visit to each community to examine the buildings as well as a resource packet that can help layout a plan for redevelopment of the space. Community visits will take place over the summer months, beginning in June.
Additionally, Nebraska Main Street will host three educational workshops focusing on historic preservation. These workshops will be announced soon!
