Railside Christmas will bring a family-oriented Christmas event to downtown Grand Island. The event will begin at 5:30pm at City Hall with the City of Grand Island’s Tree Lighting Ceremony. Activities in the Railside Plaza and 3rd Street will begin at 6:00pm. Heartland Dance Company, The Dance Company, North Star Gold Dust, and the 3rd City Taekwondo will be performing. Other activities include horse drawn carriage rides, strolling carolers and vendors. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be greeting children in the New Life Church. Christmas ornament making, cookie decorating, and Story Time will be hosted at the New Life Church throughout the evening’s activities. A fundraising event for Hope Harbor, Central Nebraska Humane Society and Jack’s Team Autism Society is being hosted by The Wednesday Group in the Harmony Building off Railside Plaza.
